I seed my poppies
First of all, broadcast your seeds, that means by scattering the seeds all over the expected place. Rake the surface lightly and firm the soil while you take care not to create little puddles where the seeds could accumulate.
Then you can water lightly and make sure the soil to be always moist (but not wet) until little sprouts show their nose point.
When those new born will have some leaves, take off the weakest ones to keep around 5 cm between each plant. Water.
I take care of my poppies
From a year to another, poppies can naturally seed itself back. It’s a joy to watch its nice red dress taking over the garden while its bloom.
It is lonely soul cause it doesn’t need any care. However, aphids can be dangerous for them, make sure to protect it with a black soap potion !
To cook the potion, mix 15 gram of black soap in 1 water liter and then you’ll be able to say good bye to some invasive insects (aphids, scale insects and red spiders…). Pulverizing must be reasonable : do not use it more than 4 times a season and space it out by at least a week.
To take roots Poppy doesn’t support transplantation. Then you must seed it directly to the expected place.
